Know and Track Your Visitors with Google Analytics

If you are a blogger or webmaster, web counter is of course an element you can’t obey. A web counter is used to analyze visitors of your blog. It can be used to measure the affectivity of your blog campaign related to cost you have spent for the campaign. Using a good web counter should enable you to track: number of visitors, whether they are new visitors or returning visitors, and how they came to your blog (from search engine or other sources). This way you can enhance the affectivity of your blog campaign in order to drive more qualified traffic.

One of free web counter services that offers complete stat overview is Google Analytics. Google Analytics is good web counter service owned and maintained by Google.

From the image above, we can see an “exclusive overview” by Google to help us tracking and knowing our visitors:

1. “Visits and Pageviews” reports number of visitors and page views per day.
2. “Visit by New and Returning” reports the percentage of new and returning visitors.
3. “Geo Map Overlay” reports where the visitors are from (country, state, region).
4. “Visits by Source” reports sources where the visitors came from (search engine, blog, etc).

Google Analytics is free service from Google. After signing up, you need to place a code in your blog so that Google Analytics can start analyze your blog stat. Using Google Analytics will help you maintain blogs in professional way.
